Bringing Color to Fall

As I said in my previous post. It is undeniably Fall. There is a chill in the air and in Alabama you start the morning in a hoodie and leggings and by 2 pm you are wishing you wore a tank under. I am a firm believer that this "capsule wardrobe" "clean girl aesthetic" so on so on is probably the most boring, depressing, and non-inspiring trend that has EVER hit the market. I swear I go into stores in person and I am met with shades or grey and brown. BORING! Now I completely understand if this is your style, nothing against you personally I just feel like life is too short to wear black, white, and brown. (Yes I am calling you out Carol). So, I am going to give you a few tips on how to add some color to your fall wardrobe this year!

Firstly, I wanted to start with a mood board because well... I always do.

  Chunky Knits

A good chunky sweater is a fall staple for anyone. So why not add some spunk with a bright color. I think neons are making their way back. Not quite sure how I feel about it totally yet, but a big neon sweater never hurt anyone. I am a sucker for an oversized sweater in a fun color or pattern and leggings. I am literally wearing that exact combo while typing this. After all, fashion is all about taking risks and having fun with your style. Who knows, you might just find yourself falling in love with this electrifying trend.

Cardigans

I know we have all seen the Daily Drills and Old Navy cardigans invading our feeds, I even have a couple pictured above with the chunky sweaters. But for this, think more J Crew, classic, preppy vibes.
There's something undeniably special about incorporating classic, preppy elements into our style. Picture iconic fashion staples that have stood the test of time. When paired with a crisp button-down shirt or layered over a simple tee, these cardigans bring a level of sophistication and polish to your look that transcends fleeting fashion trends.

Funky Scarves, Hats, and Gloves

I am such an advocate for fun accessories at any time of year but the cold weather makes it so much easier to have the most extravagant addition to your outfit. I got into fingerless gloves last year and I know have a pair in every color and material you could imagine. Fur, knit, lace, etc. I also LOVE a good fur scarf, again I got one last year and wore it constantly. Like $20 from Amazon. Best decision ever. And of course a good funky hat. You could do a fun knit beanie with a cheeky message or a full on Pam Anderson fur bucket hat. I love it all.
