Skincare Routine
I have recently been on my routine grind. Developing my haircare, skincare, and morning routines to perfection. I have a collective note in my notes app all about developing and keeping these routines and trying to look good and feel good for my upcoming senior year. But today, we are gonna focus on my skincare routine. And trust me when I say I have done the research about not only products but the order to apply them. So sit back and relax while I geek out over my new found obsession of skincare.
Step 1: Bliss Clear Genius Cleanser
I start off obviously with a good cleanser. This is if you don't have makeup on your skin already I will show you later in the post what I use as a true step 1 if I have on any makeup from the day but this is what I will use to start my morning or in the shower before doing my night time skincare.
This pore-purifying cleanser goes deep to clean out pores and keep skin balanced for a clear, calm complexion - without dryness or irritation.
-BHA (salicylic acid) removes dirt and excess oil from deep within pores
-Brazilian sea water helps detoxify and soothe
-Formulated with an optimal blend of clean, non-irritating ingredients
-CLEAN, CRUELTY FREE & VEGAN

Step 2: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner
Next, I'm sure you have seen this queen on TikTok shop. And while the ads are the most annoying thing I have ever watched. This stuff really does work. For me I picked this up to work on texture more than breakouts, I have never experienced acne but I do struggle with texture on my forehead and china ares and this has made a visual difference on those areas for me. Just a little of this on a cotton pad all over the face and it leaves your skin feeling super clean.
- Targets textural irregularities and uneven skin tone
- Improves appearance of dark spots, dry skin, and congestion
- Targets signs of aging skin
- Pairs well with Squalane Cleanser
- PH 3.50 - 3.70
Step 3: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Brightening Serum
Next, you want to do your serums. This one specifically is one of my favorites, it works again on texture but also works to shrink enlarged pores which is where I have seen a real difference in. My nose is where my worst pores are and I swear to you when I say, it is so soft and clear now. This serum also gives you that nice little skincare tingle burn... iykyk.
- Helps to reduce the signs of congestion and visible sebum activity
- Aids in appearance of textural irregularities
- Suited for Oily Skin
Step 4: Good Molecules Yerba Mate Wake Up Eye Gel
Next up, I like to do an eye cream, since this is my AM eye cream it is a light and cooling gel. This not only wakes me up because of the cooling factor but it also makes for a good moisturized base for my concealer and eliminates creasing for REAL. Truly has made a difference for only $6. Yup.
- The lightweight, fast-absorbing gel texture sinks into skin instantly for seamless wear under makeup
Step 5: Bubble Knock Out 1.8% Salicylic Acid Acne Spot Treatment
This is one of my favorite finds that I use, I haven't seen anyone talk about this product. This is a spot treatment pen, it has like a small dough foot applicator that you squeeze and it onto anywhere you have a blemish and it is a clear cover over any pimples for the day. Def recommend.
- For all skin types. Best for early-stage blemishes, blackheads, and whiteheads.
- Fragrance Free
Step 6: Bubble Slam Dunk Hydrating Moisturizer
The final step for my AM routine is moisturizer (I also do SPF but that is included in my makeup routine...coming soon). I love this product, and I will be honest it was originally sent to me in PR but it is an automatic rebuy anytime I run out. Leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth and my favorite part is that it sinks into your skin quickly and doesn't leave it feeling greasy. Another perfect base for makeup or just leaving your skin glowy all day.
- For normal to dry skin.
- Fragrance Free.
Step 7: e.l.f Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm PM Only
If I had to pick a holy grail item. It is probably this. I have been using and rebuying this product since my sophomore year of college (2 years). Again originally sent to me in PR but I have put so many people onto this product. It is the best, most affordable, and quickest way to get your makeup off at the end of the day. It comes with a little scoop and you take about a quarter size amount warm it up either on your skin or in your hands and massage it into your face and then wash it off with a rag and it leaves your skin completely clean. I'm talking no makeup left at all. It is incredible. And again doesn't leave your skin feeling super greasy and clogged. My top pick.
- A solid cleansing balm that melts into a luxurious oil texture that melts away makeup
- Easily removes makeup without stripping the skin
- Leaves skin feeling silky smooth, plumped, and hydrated.
- Great for: dry, oily, and combination skin
- 100% vegan and cruelty-free, e.l.f. is Leaping Bunny Certified
Step 8: CeraVe Eye Repair Cream PM Only
I repeat all steps from my previous routine up until the Yerba Mate eye cream then I switch to this for PM. This is a bit of a thicker heavier eye cream because it is specifically for under eye bags and puffiness. It is still cooling but it is a little gentler and is more to keep you from waking up looking like you haven't slept in 50 years.
- Formulated for delicate skin, this eye cream reduces the appearance of dark circles and eye puffiness
- Features a Marine & Botanical Complex to help brighten the entire eye area
- Non-greasy, fast-absorbing formula
- Helps restore the skin's protective barrier with ceramides
- Helps attract moisture to the skin with hyaluronic acid
- Provides soothing benefits with niacinamide
- Ideal for all skin types
Step 9: CeraVe PM Lotion Face Moisturizer PM Only
Final step, I know it's been a long journey. This is just a good light night cream which is hard to find. I find some night creams are too heavy and sticky and just leave you feeling like a greaseball. But this one is cooling and restorative and not irritating at all.
- Ultra-lightweight oil-free night cream formula moisturizes the skin while you sleep
- Helps restore the protective skin barrier with three essential ceramides
- Helps attract moisture to the skin with hyaluronic acid
- Helps soothe the skin with niacinamide
- Travel Size, under TSA liquid limit
- Ideal for normal to oily skin
- Gentle, non-irritating formula
- Non-comedogenic and won't clog pores or cause acne flare-ups
