Top 3 Gameday Trends 2024

Coming back at you with my top performing blog post from last year. This was by far the most viewed post I did last year so I definitely wanted to do it again this year but I will say, this year has been a lot harder. We are a few weeks into the season and if we are being honest. There hasn't been many stand out trends I have seen when it comes to gameday. It feels like there is nothing new and exciting but I do have a few things I have seen repeated over and over since the season has come into full swing.

1. Statement Jewelry

This is definitely the biggest stand-out for me this year so far. I have seen lots of big chunky accessories out on the quad. Whether it is shells, thick chain, or pearls... the bigger the jewels the better. Necklaces and earrings both, the chunkiest you can get. It does give me throw back feelings to that 2012-2016 college period where statement necklaces with turquoise and coral were worn out every night, which does frighten me for what trends are about to come back through the mainstream. No chevron please.

2. Matching Sets

I may be biased on this one because I have worn a matching set to both home games so far and also... literally almost every other gameday outfit I have planned for the rest of the season is a matching set as well. But I think there are lots more people wearing matching sets than I have seen in past years. They are so simple and effortless but make you look so put together. My outfit for our next game, Georgia, is one of if not my favorite of all time if it works out the way I want it to. I have tried it on at least once a week since I got it in the mail in June just to make sure it is still as perfect as I remember. So be on the lookout for that next week.

3. Maxi Skirts

Finally, I have seen a lot of maxi skirts this season. We saw the white linen maxi become popular this summer when it comes to that "cool concert girl" look but I am happy to see it carry into football season. I feel like we usually don't see longer skirts popular during football season in the south 1. because it is hotter than hell and 2. the dirt/grime from tailgating/barhopping. But I am here for it, I think they are so cute and really elevate an outfit. Throw on a fun maxi with a basic top and you are automatically looking perf.
